Checking in & out

You will need to check-in online before your arrival – you’ll receive an email a week before.

Keys? The lockbox code, location and further details will be sent to you by midday on your arrival day. If you haven’t received this please call 01983 403374 (opt 2).

Guaranteed from 4pm but usually ready earlier.

Check-out by 10:30am and return keys to the lockbox.

Parking & charging

Each apartment has an on-site designated parking bay for two cars on the Esplanade, next door to the Sandringham Hotel in front of the sea – they are signposted.

Additional off-site parking available 200 yards away – get in touch to arrange. Both parking options are free of charge.

A 7kW electric vehicle charging point is provided a bit further along the hotel car park which you can use; available on a first come first served basis. You’ll need to bring your own type 2 charging lead.

Furry friends

Yes, being a family of dog lovers we are dog friendly.

We must be informed if you are bringing your furry friend prior to your arrival – select the dog add-on when booking or contact us to add this on.

We welcome fully house trained dogs over 12 months old and subject to section 10 of our terms and conditions.

Seafront Serenity:

Esplanade, Sandown, Isle of Wight, PO36 8AE – the single story flat roofed magnolia building with three large glazed doors adjacent to the Sandringham Hotel and directly in front of the sea and in front of the parking bays.

Balcony On The Bay & Beach Lookout:

54 High Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight, PO36 8AE – the light blue building with a dark blue front door above marked ‘Clifton’ and directly opposite the pink shop.

Seafront Serenity:

There are six small steps up to the patio and doors. Internally there are three steps up to the kitchen, bathroom and W.C.

Balcony On The Bay:

There are two small steps to the front door. The apartment is all on one level.

Beach Lookout:

There are two small steps to the front door and then nineteen stairs to the apartment. Once at the top, the apartment is all on one level.

Each apartment has its own thermostat available to you where you can control your desired heating temperature.

We do not have air conditioning. We recommend that you bring a fan with you if you’re not a ‘fan’ of the heat – pardon the pun!

Yes, an iron and ironing board is provided in each apartment, usually in one of the wardrobes or hall cupboards.

Yes, a vacuum cleaner is provided in each apartment, usually in the hall cupboard or one of the larger wardrobes.

Yes, complementary WiFi is provided throughout the apartments.

We have a fibre to the premises connection with a low ping meaning fast response and low latency or “lag”. Bandwidth is limited to ensure fair use between all guests – perfect for browsing, HD streaming, light gaming or work.

We do not charge for infants (under 2 years of age) nor are they included in the maximum occupancy.

We can a travel provide cot upon request for a small one-off fee when you are booking seven or more days in advance. We do not provide travel cots for last-minute bookings.

The Sandringham Hotel is open seasonally in the summer.

Guests are welcome to make use of these facilities in the school holidays in July and August, and selected dates in May, June and September – contact us to confirm.

The heated indoor swimming pool and spa pool are open daily between 9am and 8pm.

The Isle of Wight is in England and classed as mainland UK (we have a Portsmouth postcode); you therefore do not need to bring your passport with you to get here or get back.

If we organised your ferry travel for you then please contact us to request a change.

The ferry operator will be unable to speak with you direct due to data protection, so please don’t contact them yourselves.

If you made your own travel arrangements, please contact the company you booked with.

VAT invoices are automatically issued by email at 8:30am on your departure day. To request a copy invoice please contact us.

Our VAT registration number is GB 411 3513 08.

If you booked direct with us by telephone, email or on our website, please contact us.

If you booked via a third party website or company, please contact them initially and make the request. You may be able to do this through your online account with them.

We may be on an island with no fixed link, but getting here is easier than you think…

Driving

We can book your car or vehicle ferry travel for you with Red Funnel from Southampton to East Cowes, and return, for FREE for three nights bookings or £79 to £119 for one or two nights bookings in 2026.

Select the car ferry add-on when booking or contact us to add it onto an existing booking. Tell us your preferred sailing times; we’ll book it subject to availability, and send you your ticket.

Or you can book your own Wightlink crossing from Portsmouth > Fishbourne or Lymington > Yarmouth.

On foot or bike

We can book your bike or foot passenger catamaran travel for you from Southampton to West Cowes, and return, with Red Funnel’s Red Jet for just £35 per person in 2026.

Select the passenger ferry add-on when booking or contact us to add it onto an existing booking. Tell us your preferred sailing times; we’ll book it subject to availability, and send you your ticket.

Or you can book your own Wightlink crossing from Portsmouth Harbour > Ryde Pier or with Hovertravel from Southsea > Ryde.

Buses & trains

Buses and trains are easily accessible once you arrive on the island, or there’s taxi ranks adjacent.

The Island Line train service operates from Ryde Pier to Shanklin with a station in Sandown just 15 minutes away – along Station Avenue – follow signs to the beach.

Southern Vectis operate buses around the island, with a stop just behind us on the High Street and Victoria Road.

If you’re arriving into Cowes, you’ll need bus route 1 then 2, 3 or 8 – number 8 is the quickest.

If you’re arriving into Ryde, you’ll need bus route 2, 3 or 8 – number 2 is the quickest.
